LAS VEGAS — Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is due in court in Las Vegas on a misdemeanor battery charge alleging he poked a security guard in the face during an argument last month outside Mayweather’s home.

Court officials say Mayweather is scheduled Wednesday before a Las Vegas judge on a charge that could get him a six-month jail sentence and a fine.

Mayweather’s attorney didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.

A police report alleges the 33-year-old Mayweather jabbed 21-year-old homeowner association guard Shayne Smith in the cheek Nov. 15 after Smith wrote parking violations for two vehicles outside Mayweather’s house.

Mayweather also faces unrelated felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery charges stemming from a Sept. 9 dispute with the mother of his children. Prosecutors said he also threatened his sons.
