Man dies in apparent drowning off Diamond Head
A man died of an apparent drowning in waters off the Diamond Head lighthouse this afternoon.
It appears the man, of an indeterminate age, may have been snorkeling, said a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services.
Beachgoers pulled the victim from waters at the surf spot known as “Lighthouse” off Beach Road about 3:39 p.m. and tried to revive him. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 3:57 p.m., the official said.
