Robbery suspect strikes a third bank
Honolulu police released a bank surveillance photo of a suspect in the robbery of the Bank of Hawaii branch at 101 North King St. at 9:50 a.m. today. The suspect may also be responsible for two other bank robberies. He's described as in his 40s, 5-foot 8-inches to 6-feet tall, weighin between 220 and 240 pounds. He was wearing a yellow dress shirt, khaki long pants, a white baseball cap and wired prescription glases.
Honolulu police are looking for a man suspected of robbing three banks in the last month.
The latest robbery happened at abou 9:50 a.m. yesterday at the Bank of Hawaii branch at 101 North King St. Police say the man approached a teller and demanded money.
He fled on foot.
The suspect is described as in his 40s, 5 feet 8 inches tall andweighing between 220 to 240 pounds. He was wearing a yellow dress shirt, khaki long pants, a white baseball cap and wired prescription glasses.
The description and surveillance photos from the banks appear to show the same suspect who robbed two downtown Honolulu banks earlier this month — the Tuesday robbery of the Hawaii National Bank at 10:25 a.m. at 841 Bishop St. and the Dec. 9 robbery of the Territorial Savings & Loan at 1000 Bishop St.
The man is not believed to be the so-called "backpack bandit." who is wanted for four bank robberies this year.
