Molokai police are looking for a man who allegedly stole a cash register from the Molokai Drive-In and attempted to hide it in a lot across the street.

According to police, the man — described only as 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall — reached into the drive-in’s open counter window, took the register, and fled to a brushy area across the street, where he attempted to hide the register under a hooded sweater and T-shirt.

Police recovered the register with cash intact but are still seeking the suspect. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Molokai Police Station at 553-5355 or Crimestoppers at 242-6966.
