Motorcyclist dies in Kauai’s first traffic fatality of the 2011
A 27-year-old motorcycle rider died in an early morning crash in Hanamaulu today, Kauai officials said.
His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The crash occurred at 1:13 a.m. on Laukona Street near Ohia Street.
The Kauai Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate but believes that speed may have been a factor, county officials said.
The crash is Kauai’s first traffic fatality of the year.
