Tourist rescued after injuring ankle during a hike on Koko Head Crater trail

A male visitor wrenched his ankle this morning while hiking on the Koko Head Crater trail and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The man and his wife called for help at 10:25 a.m. Firefighters hiked to the couple and then called for its helicopter which brought the man to the Koko Head District Park 30 minutes later.

The man was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
