Alabama downs Hawaii in tennis

Alabama blanked Hawaii 4-0 in men’s tennis yesterday in Austin, Texas.

Ricky Doverspike of the Crimson Tide defeated the Rainbow Warriors’ Leo Rosenberg 6-1, 6-4 in No. 1 singles.

Alabama also won three other singles matches and the doubles point by taking two of three doubles matches. Three singles matches were unfinished and suspended because the outcome of the team competition was already determined.

Hawaii’s Daniel Llarenas and Jeremy Tweedt beat Doverspike and Vikram Reddy of the Crimson Tide for the Rainbow Warriors’ only victory of the day.

Hawaii dropped to 0-3.
