Kaipo Pale scored 27 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead eighth-ranked Roosevelt over No. 10 Radford, 69-67, in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red playoffs last night.

The visiting Rams’ T.J. Reid hit six 3-pointers, launching many of his shots from NBA range. Reid scored 24 of his game-high 35 points after the break and hit his final trey with a second left for the final margin.

"I can see why they were one of the best teams in the West," said Roosevelt coach Steve Hathaway. "That (T.J.) Reid can shoot."

Hathaway credited Roosevelt guard Ese Tago for taking care of the ball and feeding Pale whenever Radford closed the gap.

The Rough Riders also converted 24 of 33 free throws, including 13 in the fourth quarter.

Roosevelt takes on Moanalua on Saturday, while Radford plays Kaimuki for the OIA’s final state tournament spot.
