Ala Moana man arrested for allegedly robbing another man

A 24-year-old Ala Moana man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly stole money and a cellphone from a 40-year-old man who paid him to fix up his car in December.

The man offered to do bodywork on the car on Dec. 15 and the two drove to Ewa Beach where the man started working on the car after receiving partial payment, police said.

The man tried to leave without finishing the work and hit the victim on the back of the head when he confronted him, police said.

The men fought, as the robber fled with the man’s property, police said.

Police found the man on Ala Moana Boulevard at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday and booked him on suspicion of robbery. He was released pending investigation.
