Kincaid earns national handball title

Mike Kincaid of Kailua teamed with Rod Gaspar of California to win the 65-plus division at the U.S. Handball Association’s National Masters Doubles Tournament last weekend in San Francisco.

Kincaid and Gaspar, a member of the 1969 World Series champion New York Mets, defeated Terry Nett and Lewis Lambert of Colorado in the final, 13-21, 21-13, 11-6.

Extreme cowboy clinic coming up

John Black is the featured clinician at the Extreme Cowboy Association’s obstacle and horsemanship clinic March 6 at Kawailoa Ranch on the North Shore.

Advance registration is required. The cost is $100 per horse/rider and $20 for spectators.

Isle athletes win at trampoline event

Nani Vercruyssen and Zachary Ceroli were named grand champions in their respective events in leading Hawaii at the 8th Paradise Friendship Trampoline Meet between Hawaii and Japan at the Hawaii Academy gym.

Vercruyssen, a member of the U.S. national team, won in women’s individual and double mini-trampoline. Ceroli, a junior elite gymnast, won the men’s individual and double mini-tramp. Gymnasts ranged in age from 4 to 92.
