Free workshop on starting a business set for March 23

Three state and federal agencies will hold a free workshop March 23 to help anyone seeking to start their own small business.

The workshop will provide participants with information on developing a business plan, evaluating the viability of a business idea, getting a general excise tax license, registering a business name, and obtaining financing.

The event is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Center and the State of Hawaii’s Business Action Center.

 The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the SBA District Office, Waterfront Plaza, Building One, 500 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 1-306. Participants can register by calling 541-2990 extension 21, or on the SBA website:www.sba.gov/hi.
