Oahu is under a flood advisory until 2:30 p.m. today as showers continue to affect Windward Oahu from Waimanalo to Hauula, the National Weather Service said. 

“Civil Defense reported elevated water levels in Waikane stream sending debris onto Kamehameha Highway,” the advisory said. “Additional showers will affect the area through mid-afternoon.”

The advisory may be extended beyond 2:30 p.m. if heavy rain persists, forecasters said.

The weather service advises the public to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
