Waimanalo stabbing injures man, 24

Police are investigating the stabbing of a man Tuesday afternoon in front of the Olomana Golf Links on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo.

A 24-year-old Waimanalo man was taken by paramedics to the hospital in stable condition after suffering at least one stab wound at about 1 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for the city Department of Emergency Services.

A man, 42, with an out-of-state address was arrested at the scene and released pending investigation several hours later.

Motorist critical after Aiea crash

A 22-year-old man was critically injured last night in a two-vehicle crash in Aiea.

Police said the crash happened about 6:50 p.m. at Kamehameha Highway and McGrew Loop.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital in critical condition, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.

Officers with the Vehicular Homicide Section have been dispatched to the crash. Police said no roads are closed because of the crash.

3 men sought in robbery

Hawaii County police were looking for three men who robbed a 56-year-old man in Hilo early yesterday morning.

Police said the man, a Hilo resident, was approached at 2 a.m. by the other men on Banyan Drive near Lihiwai Street.

They assaulted him and took his wallet and backpack.

Fire rescue personnel drove the victim to Hilo Medical Center for treatment.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 935-3311 or CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 or 329-8181.

Pipe repairs to take weeks

Maui County parks officials said they hope to have a pipeline at Launiupoko Park in west Maui fixed by the end of this month.

The broken line has left the park without showers and faucets. Portable toilets have been brought in.

The county apologized for the inconvenience and said new pipes will be delivered in two to three weeks to replace the broken line.

The park is on the southern end of Lahaina and used by residents and visitors.

Burglars hit fabric store

Kauai police are asking the public for information about a break-in at a Kapaa business earlier this week.

Vicky’s Fabrics on Kuhio Highway was hit by burglars sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning, police said.

An undisclosed amount of cash, a laptop computer and some fabric was stolen
