Man arrested after returning to store from which he allegedly shoplifted
A Waipahu man, 25, was arrested in Waikiki last night after he allegedly returned to a Royal Hawaiian Center retail shop he shoplifted from several weeks ago.
Police said the man tucked away merchandise away in his waistband and left the store without it on Feb. 26. The store manager reviewed security tape from the incident and was able to identify him, police said.
When the man returned to the store Thursday night, the store manager recognized him and called police.
The man was being held pending a charge of second-degree theft.
