U.S. and state flags at half-staff today to honor last World War I veteran

U.S. and state flags will fly at half-staff today in honor of Frank W. Buckles, the last American veteran of World War I, according to the office of Gov. Neil Abercrombie.

Buckles is being buried today with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

Buckles enlisted in the Army at 16 after lying about his age. He died last month at his home in Charles Town, W.Va, at age 110.
