Kauai police seek help in identifying body found in Hanalei wildlife refuge
Kauai police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was found floating in a stream Monday afternoon in Hanalei.
The cause of death remains unknown, but police do not suspect foul play.
The body was found within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge. The man wore a pair of dark blue shorts and a silver ring with a cutout design on his left ring finger, Kauai County officials said.
Police did not find any identification on the man or near the area where his body was found.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday found the man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and has been dead for more than three days. A forensic pathologist could not identify the body because of the amount of decomposition.
