2 hurt as ambulance crashes into tree in Kualoa

A city ambulance was damaged and two paramedics injured when the ambulance crashed into a tree near Kualoa Regional Park.

Police said the paramedics reported a truck crossed the center line and forced them off the road about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. A witness reported the ambulance appeared to have substantial damage.

Two female paramedics were in the ambulance, returning from a call, so there was no patient aboard, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said. One was taken to the hospital in serious condition and the other in stable condition, she said.
