Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man who robbed the Ken Fong Restaurant on Smith Street in Chinatown on the night of March 18.

A man entered the restaurant and tried to open the cash register about 11 p.m., police said. When he was confronted by an employee who told him to leave, the man left. He returned a few minutes later and, while brandishing a knife, assaulted the employee and stole items from her. He then fled on foot.

The man is described as in his 20s, between 5 feet 4 and 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds, and wearing a fisherman’s hat, a black shirt and black shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 955-8300, or *CRIME on cellphones.
