>> Loyola Marymount sophomore Zac Fujimoto (Maryknoll ’08) went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in a 6-4 win over UC Santa Barbara last Wednesday.
>> Northwestern first baseman Paul Snieder (Punahou ’08) went 2-for-4 with a double and his third home run of the season in a 10-4 win over Milwaukee yesterday. Snieder also homered in Sunday’s 15-14 loss to Ohio State, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
>> San Diego junior Zack Kometani (Punahou ’08) went 7-for-18 with three doubles, three runs scored and six RBIs as the Toreros took three of four games against New Orleans over the weekend.
>> Whittier (Calif.) freshman outfielder Sean-Michael Nada (‘Iolani ’10) had two hits with a run and an RBI, and pitcher Curtis Martin (‘Iolani ’10) allowed one hit in two scoreless innings of relief in an 11-3 loss to Redlands (Calif.) in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
>> Kansas senior Wally Marciel (‘Iolani ’06) allowed five runs in six innings with seven strikeouts in a 5-1 loss to Missouri State yesterday. Two of the five runs were unearned and Marciel allowed six hits and walked four.

MEN’S GOLF
>> Pacific (Ore.) senior Max Bonk (Hawaii Prep ’07) was named the Northwest Conference’s Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week yesterday after winning his fourth NWC Spring Classic individual title on Sunday. Bonk won with rounds of 72 and 75.
WOMEN’S GOLF
>> Portland State sophomore Britney Yada (Waiakea ’09) tied for individual medalist honors at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic yesterday, shooting even par in the final round to finish at 3-under 213 for the tournament. Boise State sophomore Hayley Young (Mid-Pacific ’09) sandwiched a 1-under 71 between rounds of 76 to finish in a tie for 11th place at 7 over. Santa Clara senior Miki Ueoka (Kauai ’07) finished in a tie for 33rd place at 14 over, and Broncos junior Tammy Surtees (Hawaii Prep ’08) finished in a tie for 106th.
>> UCLA junior Stephanie Kono (Punahou ’08) shot a 3-over 75 in the final round of the PING/Arizona State Invitational on Sunday to finish in third place at 2 under. Kono opened with a 70 and a 69 and was at 5 under heading into Sunday’s round.
>> Tulsa sophomore Kristina Merkle (Moanalua ’09) closed with a 2-over 74 to finish in a tie for 12th place at 7 over at the Rebel Intercollegiate that ended on Sunday.
>> Pacific (Ore.) senior Valerie Kitamori (Waiakea ’07) finished in sole possession of second place at 20-over 164 at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic that ended on Saturday. Boxers senior Tami Park (Waiakea ’07) finished in a tie for 14th place at 35 over, and Puget Sound senior Natalie Nakamine (Roosevelt ’07) finished in a tie for 18th place at 38 over.
SOFTBALL
>> New Mexico State senior Hoku Nohara (Kamehameha ’07) drew nine walks in a three-game sweep of Utah State over the weekend. Officially, Nohara was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in the series. Sophomore Tehani Ka‘aihue (Kapolei ’09) homered in Saturday’s win to help the Aggies go to 6-0 in Western Athletic Conference play.
>> Eastern Kentucky senior pitcher Noelani Esperas (Kamehameha ’07) struck out the side in the seventh inning to preserve a 12-7 victory over Tennessee State on Sunday.
>> Pacific Lutheran freshman Lindsey Matsunaga (Kaimuki ’10) hit a solo home run and Glenelle Nitta (Mililani ’09) had an RBI single in a 4-2 win over California Lutheran in the second game of a doubleheader yesterday.
>> Mississippi State junior Kaili Smith (Kapolei ’08) went 2-for-7 with a double, four walks and four runs scored as the Aggies took two of three against Mississippi over the weekend.
>> Bloomfield (N.J.) freshman Angie Yoshizu (University ’10) had four hits in a doubleheader sweep of Chestnut Hill College on Saturday.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
>> Occidental (Calif.) freshman Jonathan Padron (Damien ’10) ran the 100-meter dash in 10.65 seconds at the Cal-Nevada Championships on March 28, posting the fastest time in NCAA Division III this year. It’s the fifth-fastest time in school history.
>> Pacific (Ore.) senior Murphy Busek (Waiakea ’07) finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 142 feet, 10 inches and placed fourth in the shot put at the Linfield Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational on Saturday. Boxers freshman Kelson Kawai (Kohala ’10) set a season best in the high jump, finishing third with a mark of 6 feet, 3 1/2 inches.
>> Idaho State sophomore Bryce Jenkins (Leilehua ’09) finished ninth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:00.99 at the All-Idaho Cup on Saturday. Jenkins placed 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.14.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
>> Rice sophomore Farrah Madanay (Punahou ’09) placed second in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 18:04.16 at the SFA Alumni Invitational on Sunday.
>> Pacific (Ore.) junior Nicole Smith (Kamehameha-Maui ’08) placed second in two events, running the 100-meter hurdles in 16.62 seconds and posting a season-best time of 26.92 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the Linfield Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
>> Dartmouth sophomore Joy Piotrowski (Punahou ’09) placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.46 meters at the Snowflake Classic on Saturday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
>> Cal State Northridge setter Danny Rodrick (Kapaa ’07) had 50 assists, five digs and a solo block and senior Kaleo Baxter (Kauai ’05) added nine digs and two assists in a four-set less to Hawaii on Friday night. Rodrick had 28 assists and two aces and Baxter had eight digs and three assists in a three-set loss to the Warriors on Saturday.
>> Stanford senior Spencer McLachlin (Punahou ’07) put down 16 kills and recorded six blocks in the Cardinal’s regular-season home finale against Pepperdine on Saturday. Junior Brad Lawson (‘Iolani ’08) hit .341 with a match-high 19 kills and 10 digs and Erik Shoji (Punahou ’08) contributed 13 digs for the Cardinal.
>> Brigham Young middle blocker Futi Tavana (Kauai ’05) hit .588 with 11 kills in 17 swings and added one solo block and five block assists in a sweep of Long Beach State on Saturday. Freshman Taylor Crabb (Punahou ’10) had eight kills, four digs and three block assists for the 49ers.
>> Massachusetts Institute of Technology senior Caine Jette (Maui ’06) had four digs, two assists and an ace in a five-set loss to Philadelphia Biblical University in the quarterfinals of the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Championships on Monday, ending the season for the Engineers, who finished 29-7.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
>> Harvard freshman Shayna Price (Punahou ’10) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division defensive player of the week yesterday after leading the Crimson to wins over the weekend against Connecticut College and Marist. Price combined for three goals, four assists and five steals in the two games.
>> Occidental (Calif.) senior Karie Nickle (Kamehameha ’07) had two goals and three assists and sophomore Nanea Fujiyama (Kamehameha ’09) had three assists and one goal in a 7-4 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
>> Cal Lutheran junior Jane Galluzzi (Punahou ’08) had two four-goal games on Saturday as the Regals lost to Whittier (Calif.) 10-9 in overtime and beat Chapman College 16-8.
>> Pacific (Calif.) senior Dara Tawarahara (‘Iolani ’07) finished with two goals and an assist in a 9-5 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
