FRESNO STATE (20-3)

» Outlook: The Bulldogs have won four conference titles and four tournament championships in the past five years, and are poised to do it again. Fresno State is ranked as high as ninth by Baseball America. The Bulldogs are 16th nationally with a 2.50 team ERA and rank second in the WAC in batting (.286), slugging (.429), doubles (43), triples (7) and home runs (14). They are 8-1 against ranked teams.

HAWAII (14-14)

» Outlook: The Rainbows are coming off a season-high 12 runs in each of their last two games. The defending tournament champions are 6-9 against ranked teams. UH is second in the WAC with a 3.34 ERA and leads the league in triples (9), stolen bases (35), opposing batting average (.234) and walks allowed (67).

NEVADA (8-16)

» Outlook: The Wolf Pack were one of three teams to receive a first-place vote in the preseason coaches poll, but started the year 0-9. Senior Waylen Sing-Chow, a Kamehameha alumnus, is 3-for-22 in seven games with four runs scored. Melino has reached base in all 24 games.

SAN JOSE STATE (19-9)

» Outlook: The Spartans opened eyes by taking two of three games against then-No. 2 UCLA in late February. The Spartans won the Jack Gifford Memorial Tournament in March and have won four of five entering tomorrow’s series against Fresno.

NEW MEXICO STATE (22-6)

» Outlook: The Aggies have won 11 of their last 12 to earn a No. 28 ranking in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll. NMSU leads the league in nearly every offensive category, including runs (304), batting (.358), home runs (25), doubles (71) and walks (193).

LOUISIANA TECH (15-13)

» Outlook: The Bulldogs have allowed a league-low four homers. Dudley is the reigning WAC pitcher of the week after recording two saves against Southern Arkansas last weekend. Threlkeld continues to be the team’s leader on offense with 27 runs scored and 10 doubles.

SACRAMENTO ST. (9-20)

» Outlook: The Hornets are the worst hitting team in the WAC at just .218, but make up for it with a pitching staff that has limited opponents to .278 hitting. Christiansen has taken over for John Smith, who lasted 32 years as head coach.
