Kauai firefighters airlifted a 56-year-old Princeville woman who had fallen during a walk Tuesday at the base of cliffs near the Alii Kai Resort.

Police said her husband reported her missing Monday night after she failed to return home from the walk. The following morning, a police helicopter spotted the woman, and officers called fire rescue for assistance.

She was airlifted to a nearby landing area and transported to Wilcox Hospital in stable condition.
