Officials identify victim in Ala Moana crash

The medical examiner’s office has identified the man who died after his car crashed in a Ala Moana parking lot Saturday evening as Juno Kaneshige, 87.

Police said Kaneshige was driving in a private parking lot at Kapiolani Boulevard and Kamakee Street when the car crashed into a building at 6:13 p.m. Saturday. He was in critical condition when he arrived at the Queen’s Medical Center and died at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators said Kaneshige may have suffered from a medical condition. The cause of death was under investigation by the medical examiner.
