High surf advisory issued for Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for all south-facing shores beginning 6 a.m. Wednesday and lasting 24 hours.

Surf will have 7- to 9-foot faces. The weather service advised people to be mindful of rip currents and localized beach erosion.

The south swell should peak this afternoon and evening and begin to gradually diminish Thursday and Friday, forecasters say.
