» U.S. Naval Academy head football coach Ken Niumatalolo is not a federal employee. He is paid by the Naval Academy Athletic Association, a nonprofit organization. An “Off the News” item on Page A10 yesterday said Niumatalolo was the nation’s highest-paid federal employee. The online edition has been corrected.

» State general funds to the University of Hawaii pay about 60 percent of UH’s payroll. A Page B1 article Sunday said tuition pays about 60 percent of the payroll. Also, the first name of Linda Johnsrud, the University of Hawaii’s executive vice president for academic affairs/provost, was misspelled, and her title was listed as vice president for academic planning and policy. The online edition has been corrected.

» The Friends of Michele Fundraiser for Michele Mendoza is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Information accompanying a Page G10 article Sunday said the event will be held on another day. The online edition has been corrected.

» The puniu, or knee drum, is played by being struck with a ka, a small braided ti leaf. A photo caption on Page G1 Sunday said it can also be struck with fingers. The online edition has been corrected.
