Enjoy the Taste of Waimea while honoring U.S. forces
Waimea, Kauai » The third annual Taste of Waimea is set for 5-7 p.m. May 12 on the Plantation Lawn at Aston Waimea Plantation Cottages.
The event features pupu and spirits and Hawaiian music, including a special musical performance by the Makaha Sons.
The event will honor all U.S. armed forces with special recognition going to Kauai’s Pacific Missile Range Facility, National Guard stationed in Hanapepe and Kauai veterans.
Taste of Waimea is sponsored by Aston Hotels & Resorts and the Kauai Chamber of Commerce.

Campground’s restrooms are shuttered for upgrades
Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii » Restrooms at Namakanipaio Campground in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are closed for renovation and will reopen in mid-July. Three portable restrooms are in place in the meantime.
A park maintenance team is upgrading the facilities for people with disabilities, as outlined in Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.
