Crews suspend search for missing swimmer off Mokuluas
Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel have suspended their search for a missing swimmer in the area of the Mokulua Islands.
The swimmer, believed to be a man in his 20s, was apparently swept off an outcropping of rocks and was unable to get back to shore.
According to HFD spokesperson Capt. Robert Main, HFD personnel initiated a search at 6:16 p.m. but were forced to suspend it around 7:35 p.m. due to darkness. Rescuers will return to the scene tomorrow morning to resume the search.
