UH to end 2012 football season with new opponent
The University of Hawaii will close its 2012 regular season football schedule with the University of South Alabama at Aloha Stadium, school officials announced today.
South Alabama is a replacement for Western Kentucky, which requested out of the Dec. 1 date. The Hilltoppers will move to a later, yet-to-be-announced season, UH said.
It will be UH’s first meeting with South Alabama, which began competition in 2009 and will be transitioning to Football Bowl Subdivision status in 2012, UH said. The Jaguars are scheduled to compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
The 2012 non-conference schedule include previously announced games with USC (Sept. 1), Brigham Young (Sept. 8) and Lamar (Sept.15).
