Hawaii’s statewide campaign to raise funds for the survivors of the Japan earthquake and tsunamis has reached $6 million in donations.

Organizers of the Aloha for Japan campaign say that two months after the March 11 disasters, the Hawaii chapter of the American Red Cross and the Japan-America Society of Hawaii collected about $3 million each.

More donation collection drives, concerts and other events are scheduled throughout the coming months.

Information about the campaign and how to make online donations can be found at alohaforjapan.com.
