Near-drowning at Hanauma Bay leaves visitor, 29, in critical condition
A 29-year-old visitor was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a near-drowning in Hanauma Bay Sunday.
City water safety personnel pulled the man from waters about halfway between the shore and the edge of the reef about 4 p.m., Honolulu fire Capt. Gary Lum said. Firefighters assisted with rescue efforts.
He was then taken to an area hospital in critical condition, a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services said.
