A 48-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of abusing a 43-year-old woman early Sunday in Honolulu.

Officers found him at his Kalakaua Avenue home at 2 p.m. today and booked him on suspicion of abuse, drug possession, and a warrant.

The man got into an argument with the woman about 1 a.m.  Sunday, police said.

He allegedly picked up the woman by her neck and threw her on the bed. Then he sat on her back and bent her neck over the edge of the bed, impeding her breathing, police said.

During his arrest, officers allegedly found a small packet of methamphetamine in his pants pocket.
