‘Oprah’ departure will be shown at Hawai’i Convention Center
The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii is inviting Oprah fans to watch the final episode of her show Wednesday from the spacious retreat of the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
The taped broadcast will be shown at the center’s Emalani Theatre, Room 320, from 4 to 5 p.m., the society announced yesterday.
The doors open at 3 p.m., but reservations are required. Call 945-1000.
The event is free, but donations will be accepted.
The mission of VASH is to help visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities, and to provide followup assistance and support in an effort to create a positive memory of their stay in the islands.
The society, founded by the Honolulu Rotary Club in 1997, was reportedly inspired by an segment of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on the movement to demonstrate “random acts of kindness.”
