Hawaii National moves Kailua branch
Hawaii National Bank is relocating its Kailua branch to make room for Target.
The bank plans to open the new space on Aug. 1 at
337 Uluniu St., which was previously occupied by Fleet Feet Sports Kailua.
The bank is leasing the site from McDonald’s of Hawaii, which has a restaurant adjacent to the new branch. The existing Kailua branch is at 345 Hahani St.
Hawaii National has 13 branches, nine on Oahu and two each on Maui and Hawaii island.
Landowner Kaneohe Ranch sold the 311,000-square-foot Don Quijote USA Co. Ltd. site on Hahani Street to Target, which plans to open a 130,000-square-foot store in July 2012.

YWCA of Oahu seeking new CEO
A search has begun for a new chief executive officer for the YWCA of Oahu, led by a volunteer search committee and assisted by Bishop & Co. of Honolulu.
“We are committed to finding an individual with the passion and commitment necessary to lead the YWCA in providing relevant and enriching programs and services for our community,” said Lissa Guild Eveleth, chairwoman of the committee and of the YWCA board of directors.
Bishop & Co. will conduct a local and national search for an individual who has leadership skills, tangible nonprofit experience and the capabilities to develop and implement strategic plans to support the YWCA of Oahu’s mission and sustain the organization. The previous CEO, Cheryl Kauhane Lupenui, stepped down in March and was recently appointed by Gov. Neil Abercrombie to the state Board of Education.
APEC graphics contractor chosen
Local company Info Grafik has received the APEC 2011 Hawaii Host Committee graphic design services contract.
The Pele Award-winning company offers Hawaii-style brand image development and management, and its clients have included the East-West Center and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
Info Grafik will be responsible for designing and printing signs, banners and directional signs at Honolulu Airport, hotels and the convention, and print materials, including transportation information, tour activities brochures, maps, informational fliers and pamphlets in support of the November APEC meetings.
“Coordinated visuals to tie together our culture, community and sense of place will present an organized, thoughtful approach to our communications effort,” said Peter Ho, Hawaii Host Committee chairman.

Aston Hotels & Resorts has named Asami Arita as the new director of Asia and international sales. She was previously an Asia senior sales manager for Halekulani and Waikiki Parc Hotel of the Halekulani Corp. as well as coordinator of Japan sales and marketing for Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Whole Foods Market has announced that its Hawaii stores have raised $8,900 from shoppers’ donations. Funds will be donated to American Red Cross Hawaii, which will benefit ongoing relief efforts in Japan.
Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has received the inaugural Pharmacy Quality Alliance quality award, which recognizes Kaiser’s achievement of a five-star rating on the PQA measures of medication safety that are included in “Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Star Rating Program.”
Friends of Hawaii Charities Inc. awarded $5,000 and the McInerny Foundation awarded $18,000 to support Mental Health America of Hawaii’s Youth Suicide and Bullying Prevention Project. This project educates youth ages 12-18 about the signs and symptoms of suicide and how to talk to someone who is depressed or suicidal, and defines bullying and cyberbullying, explaining the impact on the victim and ways to safely intervene. Hawaii has the highest rate in the nation of teen suicide attempts — double the national rate. One of every 8 students in Hawaii attempts suicide.
