Get your pets blessed
Pet owners are invited to bring their animal companions to this year’s free blessing at the Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha — Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu in Kalihi. This is the eighth year the Buddhist temple is offering its Chinowa (Ring of Renewal) blessing shared between people and pets, a practice that dates back to the eighth century. Visit the temple at 1239 Olomea St. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. No reservations are required. Call 841-4755.
