Safeway is partnering with the Hawaii Foodbank on Oahu, Hawaii Foodbank Kauai, Maui Foodbank and the Food Basket on the Big Island for the “Help Us End Hunger” food drive. Through July 24, a specially prepared grocery bag filled with tuna, peanut butter, cereal, canned vegetables and other most-needed staples will be available for Safeway shoppers to put in their cart and donate at checkout for $10. Food bank volunteers also will be at Safeway stores July 16 for a one-day collection event.
