Legislators hold briefing on teacher evaluations
Teacher evaluations and broad education reform will be the topics of a public meeting at the Hawaii Capitol.
The Senate and House Education Committees are holding the information briefing Thursday, which will include recommendations about how to improve the state’s education system.
The meeting will feature Laura Goe, a national expert and researcher on teacher evaluations. Goe works for Educational Testing Service and the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality.
Senate Education Committee Chairwoman Jill Tokuda says she hopes to learn about how to support professional teachers and increase student achievement.
