Oceanic to broadcast 17 Hawaii events on pay-per-view

Oceanic Time Warner Cable will offer a 17-game University of Hawaii sports pay-per-view package, including at least nine football games, it announced today.

In addition to football, four men’s basketball and four Rainbow Wahine basketball games will be offered. All games are expected to be in high definition.

Season package prices will remain the same as last year: $420 for Oahu renewal customers and $500 for new Oahu customers. Neighbor Island prices will be half those of Oahu, Oceanic said. Customers will also receive Oceanic’s 13-channel digital sports pak to Dec. 31, 2011.

UH season-ticket customers will be offered away games for the same $99 price as 2010.

Subscribers to the season-ticket, sports pak or road packages will get the Sept. 17 game at Nevada-Las Vegas as a bonus if Oceanic is able to negotiate its inclusion.

Individual game prices will vary from $25-$65 depending upon the game with Neighbor Islands at half price.

After 28 years of association with KFVE, it will be the first year Oceanic produces its broadcasts.

"We’re very excited about building a team to take this product to the next level," said Oceanic President Bob Barlow.

Oceanic said it will also offer webstreaming of football and basketball events at prices ranging from $6 to $12.
