Hawaii high schoolers to get chance to attend APEC meetings
Five Hawaii high school students are to get a chance to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings in November.
The APEC Hawaii Host Committee announced Wednesday the five students are to be selected from an essay contest.
The contest asks students to submit 750-word essays answering the question, “Why is sustainability important to you, Hawaii and APEC?”
A committee is to select essays based on reader engagement, interest, contest, organization and style. Essays are to be submitted by Sept. 16 and winners are to be announced Oct. 3.
