Small quake shakes Pahala area of Big Island

A small earthquake shook up the southern side of Hawaii island late this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A magnitude-3.3 tremor struck at about 11:19 a.m. and was centered about 2 miles northwest of Pahala and 43 miles southwest of Hilo. There were no immediate reports of damage.

The shaking reportedly was felt about 22 miles away in Captain Cook, according to the USGS website.
