Worker critically hurt in industrial accident on Sand Island
A 48 year-old man was taken in critical condition to a hospital this morning after he was injured in an industrial accident on Sand Island.
Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said firefighters and paramedics were summoned at 7:11 a.m. to 5 Sand Island Access Road where they found a worker trapped under under a scissor lift, a mechanical platform that moves vertically.
Firefighters freed the worker and paramedics stabilized the patient before taking him to the hospital.
