Kanani Danielson put down 17 kills and Emily Hartong added 16, but it was not enough to carry No. 10 Hawaii against No. 12 UCLA tonight. The Bruins won the match 25-20, 28-26, 20-25, 25-17, as well as the title of the 24th Hawaiian Airlines Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Tabi Love had 18 kills and Rachael Kidder 17 for the Bruins (6-0, 3-0).

Brittany Hewitt and Jane Croson each had 10 kills for the Rainbow Wahine (5-1, 2-1). The match lasted 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Danielson had 19 of Hawaii’s 75 digs and Emily Maeda 17. Lainey Gera led UCLA with 23 digs.

Kidder was named the Most Outstanding Player. Joining her on the all-tournament team were Hawaii’s Croson, Hartong and Danielson, UCLA’s Lainey Gera, Emily Danks from Ohio State and Caitlin Ledoux from Long Beach State.
