Maui police released a surveilance photo of a suspect who may have started a fire at the Maui drug court office in Wailuku.

Maui police have released security images of the suspected arsonist in Tuesday’s drug court office fire and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person.

Someone broke into an office being used by the State of Hawaii Maui Drug Court in Wailuku, about 5:25 a.m.

The person set fire to numerous items within the office and fled, police said. Damages were estimated at $250,000.

A sprinkler system contained the fire to one room.

Maui firefighters responded to the 5:20 a.m. alarm at 2050 Main St. and extinguished it hour later.

Police asked anyone with information to call Maui CrimeStoppers at 242-6966.
