Airline investigates emergency landing of Honolulu-to-Guam flight

A Continental flight from Honolulu to Guam made an emergency landing over the weekend after a cockpit warning light indicated a problem with the landing gear, according to a published report.

The Pacific Daily News reported that Continental Flight 001 landed safely Sunday evening on Guam (Saturday in Hawaii) after declaring a possible emergency.

The crew of the Boeing 767-400 did a couple of fly-bys over Guam International Airport so that ground crews could verify that the  landing gear was engaged, according to the Guam newspaper.

The paper quoted a spokesman for United/Continental Airlines’ Asia-Pacific region as saying that the flight, with 247 people on board, landed without incident and that the airline is investigating.
