Hunter taken off Aiea trail in critical condition

People gathered this morning at the entrance to a hunting trail where a man suffered a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

 

A hunter suffered a heart attack this morning while on a trail in Aiea and went to the hospital in critical condition after the fire department helicopter airlifted him off the trail.

Capt. Gary Lum, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the hunter, a man in his mid-60s, was with two of his sons when he suffered the heart attack around 5:20 this morning, They had been on the trail that begins at Onikiniki Place for about an hour.

The fire department’s helicopter airflifted the hunter to Kaonohi Park at 7 a.m. and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital in critical condition.
