Hanauma Bay will close as workers remove loose rocks

Beachgoers visiting Hanauma Bay earlier this month walked down to the popular tourist attraction.
Hanauma Bay will be closed Tuesday through Thursday while city crews remove loose rocks and stabilize the slope above the roadway leading to the beach.
The bay is normally closed on Tuesdays, but the work will keep the bay closed for two extra days. It is expected to reopen on Friday.
Loose rocks and debris have been identified on a slope above the roadway that provides access to the beach for park visitors and employees.
