Hawaii rallies past New Mexico State in volleyball

Kanani Danielson put down 22 kills and Jane Croson added 17 to lead No. 8 Hawaii to a 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-27, 15-5 victory over New Mexico State tonight in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match in Las Cruces, N.M. 

Emily Hartong, switching from right-side hitter to middle blocker for the last two sets, added 11 kills for the Rainbow Wahine (16-1, 6-0 WAC), who took over sole possession of first place in the conference. 

Hawaii extended its regular-season conference winning streak to 47 in winning its 11th straight this season.

Mita Uiato served for 10 consecutive points in Set 5 as the Wahine pulled away from a 3-3 tie to a 13-3 lead. Uiato had three of UH’s seven aces. 

Meredith Hays led the Aggies (16-5, 5-1) with 22 kills.
