The time difference between Hawaii and most of the mainland changed Saturday night when daylight saving time ended and standard time resumed.
Sunday is time to "fall back" as most people in the U.S. set their clocks back at 2 a.m.
That means the time difference between Hawaii and the West Coast changed from 3 hours ahead of Hawaii during daylight saving time to 2 hours in standard time. The East Coast time difference is 5 hours instead of 6 hours.
Residents of Hawaii, most of Arizona and some U.S. territories don’t change their clocks because they do not observe daylight saving time.
Public safety officials say this is also a good time to put a new battery in the smoke alarm, no matter where you live.
Daylight saving time returns the second Sunday in March.
