Police opened an arson case after a woman’s car was found burning in her carport in Kapolei.
The owner smelled smoke about 3:10 a.m. Thursday and went out to her car on Kekuilani Loop to see the cabin of her 2006 Mazda sedan engulfed in flames, police said.
Firefighters couldn’t determine the source of ignition, but determined an accelerant was used, police said. No one was hurt, and the car was destroyed.
