Part of Hilina Pali Road in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was closed today and will be closed again Feb. 6-7 and Feb. 13-14 for roadwork, the National Park Service said.
The closures are from Kulanaokuaiki campground to the lower end near Hilina Pali Overlook. Once the work zone progresses past Kulanaokuaiki towards Chain of Craters Road, the entire road will be closed during the work day.
Park visitors can also expect lane closures on Crater Rim Drive and Chain of Craters Road as crews make roadway improvements. People may check www.nps.gov/havo for updates.
