Officers arrested a 36-year-old man after a foot chase when he crashed a stolen cab on Kamehameha Highway Tuesday afternoon as police tried to get him to stop.

Police said the suspect was riding in a cab Tuesday afternoon when he decided to take it.  As police tried to pull him over, the suspect collided with another car, injuring the driver, and then fled on foot.

Officers caught him at Halawa Drive and Kamehameha Highway at 3:15 p.m. near the front gate to the Pacific Fleet headquarters.

During the arrest, officers  found illegal drugs, police said. They arrested the suspect, who has no local address, for auto theft, resisting arrest, fleeing the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, driving without a license, refusing to stop and for third-degree promoting dangerous drugs.
