Storm cleanup and damage assessment continued under clear skies today on three islands after more than a week of stormy weather. The Red Cross surveyed 130 homes on three islands affected by heavy rains and winds from recent storms and found five homes with major damages.

Red Cross officials surveyed 63 homes on Kauai impacted by storms, two of which sustained major damage. 

On Oahu,  61 homes were affected by the weather and two had major damage, the Red Cross said. One home in Maui County suffered major damage out of six surveyed.

Residents of homes on damaged in flooding on Aina Moi Street in Kaneohe Friday cleaned up mud and debris. Other residents in Lanikai and Enchanted Lake homes damaged by a tornado got insurance and roof repair estimates.

Officials are compiling damage reports to total up the monetary damage from the week of storms.

Hawaii State Civil Defense activated a toll-free number for damage reports from residents whose property, home or business suffered weather damage. The number is 855-211-7456, ext. 654. Reporting damage will not guarantee financial aid, but it will help officials determine whether the state qualifies for federal disaster assistance.

Maui county officials said residents no longer have to boil drinking water. Board of Water Supply tests showed the water in south and central Maui is safe to drink.

On Kauai, police reopened one lane of the Hanalei Bridge to alternating traffic early this morning.

Crews on Kauai continue work on Kuhio Highway in Kilauea and Kapahi Bridge at the Kawaihau and Kahuna road junction. Repairs on the bridge will continue into next week. In Kilauea, north-bound traffic is being diverted to Kolo Road, while southbound traffic is being redirected to Pili Road.

The Department of Water continues to urge residents in the Kīlauea, Kalihiwai, Puu Pane and Waipake areas to conserve water.  Residents are requested to restrict water consumption to essential uses only to avoid a water outage in the area.  Essential needs includes: cooking; bathing; and toilet flushing.

Lydgate Park and the Wailua Golf Course remain closed.

Greenwaste continues to be accepted only at the Hanapepe Transfer Station and the Kekaha Landfill.  The other Kauai transfer stations are open, but not accepting greenwaste.
